To boldly go where no Zoggian has gone before - and live (well, at least one) to tell the tale.
Does anyone else remember this SF story?
The alien spaceship has landed on earth and the troops prepare by the air lock to emerge onto the strange planet.
The door opens and they rush out, weapons at the ready, only to be slurped up by the tongue of the family dog.

You and even I don't agree with everything he says but I agree with him that humans are the most intelligent creature at any time on this planet.
Yes but he sounded as if human level intelligence was a unique step above comparable as a filter to the initial appearance of life and multicellular steps
Wrt UFO sightings if they are alien then we should have had that, although there are some caveats and conditions I would want to insert into that statement but it's too big a subject and to understand that conversation we'd all need similar background education on those sciences concerned. Suffice to have a simplified idea to put across.
I did physics with astro as a degree...
But these are not advanced concepts and the issue here was with signals, not UFOs. The idea that we should be hearing loads is not an accurate understanding of our current radio telescope capability.
The contents of this post, unless otherwise stated, are opinions of the author and may actually be complete codswallop

I don't think there's going to be accuracy or any great detail in that fleeting part of the podcast So what's your understanding wrt alien or intelligent signals ?
I think I understand you about humans bit but it's not that important ie basically we both agree that we are the dominant species on this planet regardless as to whether any other humanoid present during our transition to dominance was any more intelligent or not.
So is it all a hoax or is there something more serious that the US military think needs covering up?
I don't expect any increase in our knowledge of extraterrestrial life.
Or our understanding of human psychology.
"The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office’s (AARO) Historical Record Report, Volume 1": https://media.defense.gov/2024/Mar/08/2 ... -FINAL.PDF
includes: AARO found no evidence that any USG investigation, academic-sponsored research,
or official review panel has confirmed that any sighting of a UAP represented extraterrestrial
technology. All investigative efforts, at all levels of classification, concluded that most sightings
were ordinary objects and phenomena and the result of misidentification. Although not the focus
of this report, it is worthwhile to note that all official foreign UAP investigatory efforts to date
have reached the same general conclusions as USG investigations.
