On board Evenlode, somewhere in The Channel, probably the Cherbourg Race 1963 or 64.

At this moment the forum has 3839 registered members although there is no record of how many are over say 45 (at least 10 years old in 1973). So far, only keepontriking can show with photographic evidence that he was cycling in 1973.

I've sailed tall ships (Stavros S Nirchos & Prince William) as crew & Deck Hand (thus name). Would love to sail a classic yacht a good distance...

Hello Sailor  Mick, did you sail the 7 Seas.
Here's two more from the archives.
This is one from 1974 on my first bike.

And this one in 1984 with my Jack Taylor cap on.

Got no photos in 1973, but here is one taken earlier (1952). I rode this bike that year on my first tour to North Wales with a mate who lived down our road. Note the classy bars and top of the range equipment! :D

In true cycling tradition, we are now in a position where we might be able to award a few leader's jerseys for different classifications within this thread. (Obviously, these may change shoulders if somebody else puts in a performance and others may have other suggestions.)

I nominate keepontriking for yellow jersey (Best indeed only picture of cyclist in 1973.)
I nominate groveller for white jersey (best young rider)
There must be some sort of consistency award for *Asdace

* We have only six pic's with a bike (including the one belonging to MickF's big sister) and two of them belong to Asdace.

The trouble is TC, one or two of us have to get to grips with a scanner. I'm sure I've got a snapshot somewhere ....... maybe I have to get into the loft and go through our old albums .......

Don't close this thread yet .....

Old threads don't get closed; like old soldiers, they only fade away......

I really like the old photos bike or no bike. More please :)
Sorry it's not a 70's, but one is the 80's. This one is my old Carlton Corsair Tourer, that bike went all over the country. Lakes, Scotland, Northumberland, Yorkshire Dales & Moors, Norwich.

Again, another one of me in 1984. This is at Teesside Airport on the viewing platform,
must be fiddling around with the camera.

I am honoured :D

So here's a 1973 pic wearing a real yellow jersey - yes it really was yellow!
