Tandem tyres?

Post by foxyrider »

Was unaware that anyone made tandem specific tyres but came across these http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/schwalbe ... 84272.html, anyone had any experience of them? :?:
Convention? what's that then?

We use the 26-inch version on our tandem for around town, some gravel roads, and last year for a fully loaded 800-mile tour on tarmac, converted railway beds, and canal towpaths. (We'll probably skip the towpaths next time around: too many expletive-deleted barriers.) We love the tyres :) . Good control (except in mud), they roll well, and they behave themselves with four full panniers. One puncture (stiff wire fragment) in 1600 miles.

We used the Marathon Dureme Tandem Specific tyre on our Hase Pino and cycled 5600 miles across the USA last year. The tyre was superb, it rolled well and we only got one puncture, still lots of wear left in the tyre.
