Touring in Northern Norway

Post by tom101 »

Hey

In July I'm flying to Alta in Northern Norway and cycling back to France. I was wondering if anyone has visited Alta or Hammerfest, and if so did anyone notice Butane camping stove gas for sale ? or were there any outdoor shops at all in these towns ?

Cheers :)

Both have several sporting goods shops that sell various outdoors and camping stuff.

Try Sport 1, G Sport, or InterSport

If they can't help, contact http://www.turistforeningen.no/

In norway i used meths, it is called rod sprit, pronounced rord sprit, you can get it in lots of places, eg petrol stations, etc. I didn't see much gas for sale.

I bought a few gas cartridges from petrol station shops when touring between Trondheim and Tromso a couple of years back. I took a multi fuel stove and switched to petrol as it was cheaper to run.
