A good set of photos and an excellent trip - why did it have to be curtailed?

Some nice pics - It was snowing on the Furka when i crossed it last August!

Phil, it was curtailed due to several reasons, one of them being that I zig zagged around europe for too long instead of concentarting on the bigger picture, the tour was to Singapore but only made it as far as Athens before deciding to return, my blog post http://www.wallisonwheels.net/2013_08_01_archive.html details the points.
Foxyrider, the Furka pass was at the end of June. A km before the pass a patrol vehicle advised me to go back down, "waste my time and energy going back down the very road I've just climbed?" Needless to day I did not.
The tour recommences this May with a more-or-less straight route to Istanbul, where the real adventure should begin.

Really interesting blog, thanks for posting. I also enjoyed the Africa blog, I'd love to do something like that one day...
It's a shame that these blog-style websites are so hard to navigate around, it would make a big difference if there was some sort of contents page with the overall route and links to the different articles.

Hi James.
Thanks for the blog feedback.
I was never too happy either using Bloggers standard ‘Archive widget' - a rather awkward way of navigating to older / newer posts so I have removed it and added a custom ‘Contents’ box (widget) - at the top of the LH column (I'll also amend the African blog the same way).
I’ve also replaced the route/map from last years ‘attempt’, it’s just after the new map - I update this each time I have internet access, viewers can zoom in/out for finer detail if required.
Let me know your thoughts.

I think that's much clearer. It's not really a problem for friends & family who follow your blog closely, but for people who come across the blog by accident and want to quickly browse through a few entries, it's definitely better.
