Hi folks
I'm in the market for a workstand, it won't be used that frequently but I would like something reasonable. Ribble have the Park PCS 9 for 73 quid, anyone got any comments on it or is there something better for about the same price?
Ta very much.

Park PCS 9 Workstand
Re: Park PCS 9 Workstand
Hi, search for ' bike stands ' on ebay. I did that and bought a really good one for £12 that holds any bike solid enough to work on plus it folds down for storage.
Re: Park PCS 9 Workstand
I've been happy using my Park PCS9 stand for a couple of years now - and it is very robust!
Re: Park PCS 9 Workstand
I must say I'm tempted ..............
How about this one?
Slightly cheaper and seems well rated.

Would aluminium be more bendy and less stable?

Re: Park PCS 9 Workstand
I have one ,which looks very like the Ribble one.
I find the main problem is not stability ,but the difficulty of lifting the bike and doing up the clamp.
Also I feel you should only clamp the seatpost ,as thin tubes could suffer when clamped .
Hence I use hefty screw hooks in the roof of my shed and rope.

Yes, me too.anniesboy wrote: ........ I use hefty screw hooks in the roof of my shed and rope.
Also, I have one of these:

It lifts the back wheel and holds the bike fairly steady. It also is very portable and can be used anywhere for maintenance. I use it mainly for stowing my bike in the spare bedroom rather than leaning it against furniture!
I just fancy something a little better for maintenance.

Re: Park PCS 9 Workstand
Thanks for the replies folks. Think I'll drop some hints to my dear wife about getting me one for Christmas! The aluminium one you suggested seems OK Mick, got a good rating from Cycling Plus, I'll have to mull it over.
