Univega Alpina

Hi all,

Not even sure this is classed as a mtb or if it's a hybrid? (if it matters)

Anyway, just rescued it from the oblivion of the scrap metal collector.

Just wondering what original components would have been on this ? (and is it approx 1994/5?)
Any info appreciated.

I'm not a mtb guy really so might make it more of a 'go anywhere' tourer. Anyone done a similar thing?

Looks like it might have some of the original bits on it - canti brakes, non compact triple, etc. I'd guess at a dx drivetrain.

Looks quite well looked after - ought to make a good tourer/commuter if it's the right size for you.

Yes mid' to late 90s.
Possible double butted frame tubing.

Good find! Congratulations!
I used to own Univega (not the antique as yours) Alpina 550 (silver/red) - it was stolen from the basement. :(

Enjoyed it and good luck!

According to Bikepedia most likely a 1994 http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/Bike ... CeGS1I_Zws

A Polish catalogue, but I don't think it shows the whole range as the 5.4 is missing http://www.retromtb.pl/pdf/univega94.pdf
