I second that. They want me to get out there and join you but living on the south coast makes it impractacle.
Re: RSF South Lakes Group Photo Galleries
Thank you very much, manybikes and reohn2, in many ways I lucky to live in one best cycle touring areas in England with two national parks and two Area of outstanding Natural Beauty on the doorstep, the aim of posting on cycling forums like this one is arise the profile of the South Lakes Group and our national club the RSF which does have other local groups around the UK and getting folk to think about doing some exploring around there local area and trying out some local bridleways in there local area.
Cycling for me is about going exploring and stopping to looking at the view which I try to show in the photos that I take.

Re: RSF South Lakes Group Photo Galleries
Just waiting for the pics to load up, but already see the second one, and I am very glad to know the bridge is back open again after such a long closure!
Quite a few hazards to avoid in the dark though, with the benches, posts and the shiny nut heads sticking out like that.
Didn't stop at the Fenwick passing through Claughton by any chance? I believe they were opening on the day.

Hi mrjemm,
Its looks like they done good on the bridge, the press release I read about it reopening said that Lancashire County Council had just spend around millon pounds on the repairs, there a bit of landscaping work around the bridge they going to do in January to finish it off, sorry I did not stop at Fenwick its to near home but it was nice to get out on ride on Christmas Day maybe few more folk will join me for next year ride.
I just back from the South Lakes Group anunal Boxing Day Walk around the Siverdale Area, we have it around that area because the cafe at the RSB Vistior Centre at Leighton Moss is open on Boxing Day but its area with great views and scenery.
On Saturday, the group as ride starting inside the Refreshment Room on Carnforth Railway Station at 10am and will heading towards Roeburndale if you in area you welcome to come and join us on the ride.

Re: RSF South Lakes Group Photo Galleries
Thanks Simeon, sadly I am not about at the mo, but could've been a nice walk- we had a memorable new years walk around Silverdale a couple of years ago in the snow.
I guess they need to tidy up the area that was used as a yard, and the track leading up to the bridge that was gravel/mud at least until a couple of weeks ago.

Yes going turn it into the picnic area and plant some native trees, hopefully in few years time they may get around to extending the cycle path up the Lune Valley to Hornby.
