no wonder...

When dogs can drive, it's no wonder that driving standards are deteriorating...

I've sent an email this afternoon to Kier.
http://www.kier.co.uk/
I await a reply.

I was travelling on the A390 between Gunnislake in Cornwall towards Gullworthy (Devon) this morning heading East towards Tavistock.

Wednesday 22nd April 2015.
At 08:56 one of your Kier vans was coming towards me (heading west towards Gunnislake). Transit maybe?
A vehicle or two later, another of your vans was following and this one had a large trailer behind it. The two vans were obviously in convoy.

The second van and trailer was driven by a man, and he rather alarmed me because of what he was doing.
The traffic was doing about 45mph and he was eating at the wheel !

I don't mean eating a sandwich or a pasty one-handed ........... he was balancing a blue bowl on the top of the steering wheel with his left hand, and using a spoon with his right hand into his mouth. He was obviously not in proper control of his van as both hands were involved in eating his breakfast. I was horrified to say the least !

Meanwhile, the passenger - there could have been two passengers - sat there unconcerned and uninvolved.

I would like you to investigate this incident, and I would like you to reply and tell me what you have found. I would suggest that your staff need education regarding public relations - and safety on the roads of course. Maybe he could have pulled over somewhere to eat if he was that desperate? Maybe another staff member could have driven whilst he ate?

Please get back to me on this matter, as I am most concerned about road safety especially now I know that Kier drivers are so lackadaisical in their attitude.

I look forward to hearing from you soonest.

Making a dog's dinner of his breakfast?

Driving's simple, even dogs can be trained to do it  .

Well, at least it's better than all those motorists I see driving whilst on the dog and bone...
