A cyclist has been killed in a collision with a tipper lorry in central London.
The 55-year-old woman was struck by the HGV near the junction of Horseferry Road and Millbank, close to Lambeth Bridge, at 09:30 BST.

That doesn't seem to put the blame on the cyclist

The BBC have been editing their news article. It started off saying the cyclist collided with the lorry and now that she was in a collision with the lorry. But the initial article did imply the cyclist was to blame

What has the victim being female (Moira Gemmil) got to do with this tragic event?

The vast majority of people killed in similar circumstances ie;left turning HGV's, in the capital have been female.
As the vast majority of HGV's involved have been Tipper Trucks.

There was the usual spate of victim blaming on LBC, it made me so angry I turned the radio off.

There's been lots of data on it including a report that TfL suppressed but see here as an example.

Previous for drink driving,no insurance,no driving licence.
He get's 31/2 years gaol and a 10year driving ban,he'll be walking in 18month,and appealing for his licence in 5 years.
IS THIS JUSTICE?
IS THIS SENTENCE APPROPRIATE FOR THE OFFENCES COMMITTED?

No. He should have 10 years in jail and a life time driving ban.

I've also posted on the lenient sentencing thread.

Yet another one today. Not fatal.

I guess it will get to be so common that even cycle forums give up noticing it happening.
