It's a miracle

Today I had a tail wind on the way out and the way back.

That's because a peleton of bikes were doing the same journey in the opposite direction.

I once set a personal best in a '10' when the tailwind that had blown me to the turn promptly dropped for the return.

And lo! I have seen a goat with two heads, two tails and eight legs. It's a sign! It's a sign!

No I think you're wrong it needs to be a much taller goat.

Don't worry. Today is Friday 13th, so no chance.

It used to annoy me greatly when I was cycle-commuting, that the wind was against me in the morning going in, and against me in the evening coming home.

It never happened that the wind was behind me both ways.

Amazing difference it makes though. I've seen speeds from 14 to 18mph average on my commute, and the only factor appears to be wind.

I experienced almost the same miracle, headwind on the way out AND the way back! I really suffered and enjoyed myself.

I was once cycling past Speke (John Lennon) airport and clocking 40mph and the wind was still whistling past my ears!
To say I was glad I was travelling the same way as the wind would have been an understatement... ;)
