I've hit 55 mph a couple of times on my bent trike.
I think a bent trike has a couple of advantages over a velomobile around corners.
First:- it's easier to lean further, this helps keep the inside front wheel on the ground.
Second:- It cheaper to repair when things go wrong. I've found out a couple of times my streamer fair and the back of my seat make a fairly good roll cage ...........

Chap passed me today coming back from Aldi and said hello as he went by.
Its got velomobile.nl on the side so I think it must have been the quest.

On our 300k last year we rode a good part of the way in company with a bananamobile:
This was taken at the top of a 600+ metre col. We had overtaken the recumbent halfway up - it was stopped in a lay-by and the rider was having a fag.
Thereafter we stayed pretty well together, with us signalling back to him when there were bumps or potholes - hard to see over the fairing.
The bloke was impressive: that thing weighs 45 kilos, he was no lightweight either, and he was lighting up at every opportunity.

Have we got time for another cuppa?
