Motorcycles using cycle designated parking

I must admit I have parked a motorcycle in cycle parking areas, this has nearly always been at Hospitals and only if I couldn't find a motorcycle parking area.
I can't see a problem as lone as there is enough room.
What I would like to see is the 'awkward' areas of the car park (that is the odd shaped areas where cars couldn't park) used for motorcycles instead of cross-hatch painting them over ( obviously cross-hatch next to a disabled bay is for wheelchair access)
