Public bicycle pump

Post by breakwellmz »

Came across a couple of these today on the Bristol-Bath cycle path, one at Warmley the other at Bitton station. Really well made solid bits of kit,all stainless steel construction and a pressure gauge set in the top.-
Oh yes, TARDIS spotted as well(Who loo :) )

Excellent idea. :D

As a matter of interest, what pressure do they go up to?

Excellent. Are they a first? My concern would be vandalism and misuse.

What TARDIS? You mean in the first photo? I can't see any TARDIS. Maybe it's gone... :D

Superb idea about the pumps, though. Once Sustrans gets word of it, the idea will fly. :)

Quite a few in Mallorca usually outside bike shops or at recommended cafes, who also have bike stands and a multitool on a long length of a cable lock. Also outside at least one shop, a dispensing machine for inner tubes. I also know of a few cafes around the north west who have a pump available for use.

I have seen public pumps and repair stands with tools in London. Saw repair stands at Euston station and one in front of Guys Hospital. There seemed to be public pumps dotted around the city.

There's one in Kingston too. Looks like a very solid piece of kit (I haven't used it though).

Grief!

I wonder if they mean the max pressure the fittings can stand, rather than the max pressure that can be "pumped"?
I doubt the pressure gauge goes up to 220psi though.
