He obviously had it coming to him. He probably wasn't wearing a fluorescent jacket either.

He probably was wearing one while he was riding, his mistake was in taking it off when he dismounted.

He was in a car park. During working hours, doing work there, doing his job. Or course he would have been wearing a hi-vis jacket. When I was in Waitrose the other day, people working in the car park were all wearing hi-vis waistcoats. Health & Safety.

And after my experiences in Waitrose car park last week, those Range Rover's don't like hi-vis waistcoats and try to run you down - which these historians should realise maybe explains why Richard died in a car park.

Seeing as this all happened during the Winter of his Discontent, I'll bet he wasn't carrying any lights, either...

I find it hard to believe he was "on the road" especially as it's suggested elsewhere that he couldn't rustle up a horse.

It does seem that they have made the evidence fit their preconception of what happened.

They "knew" he was horseless so they have made a scenario that fits the supposition, "the hip injury must have been sustained carrying the body after death".

We dont really know much more than the injuries which are on the body and they have used a story book to fill in the rest.

Was there enough of the body left to determine any soft tissue damage, like a belly wound?

The only clear wound was the dagger up the bum, clearly a consequence of not wearing a helmet!

What's more, he'd already killed five people by mistake:
Richard III wrote:Slave! I have set my life upon a cast,
And I will stand the hazard of the die:
I think there be six Richmonds in the field;
Five have I slain to-day, instead of him.
A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

Someone with that poor road-sense was just asking for trouble...

Not quite - his brother had turned it into glorious summer 25 years earlier.

His mistake was to obey the Horse Riders Dismount sign in the car park.

Ah yes - but
..all the clouds that lour'd upon our house

probably obscured his vision somewhat...
