Accident with Severely injured cyclist...

Judgement was passed last week on a case where a timber lorry with numerous mechanical defects, previously indentified and not rectified, overtook a triathlete on a road near Macroom in Co.Cork, where he had no business doing so and severely injured the cyclist who's paraplegic as a result.
Driver was sentenced to three years in jail and banned for 15 years.
I'd never let him drive again.

A 15 year ban is pretty unusual as far as I know. In this case it seems too short, the driver has shown himself to be not worthy of holding a license ever again
