I'm interested to know how a certain number of streets have been missed completely whilst some others nearby have been captured multiple times

I'm pretty certain I haven't, though I was passed on my bike by a TomTom camera car a few months ago, so I may pop up on someone's satnav (do Tomtoms have streetview built into them?) Also I recall overtaking a Google car on the M25, but that hardly counts...

Here's me on the old bike:

I thought it was lost once they rephotographed the road we were on but the new feature that lets you see the older versions has brought me back! :D

How do you access older versions ? Thanks!

You need to be using the new version of Maps. When you go into StreetView & there is more than one set of images there should be a "New" in red in the black band telling you your location at the top left (It is completely absent if there's only one set of images). If you click on the "New" a popup opens that shows the same view on however many dates they've covered that location.

Having discovered a Google Streetview image of a cyclist apparently taking a leak at the side of the road (no, it was not me !) I contacted Google and suggested they might like to edit it out. To my slight surprise, this was refused. And, no, I will not say where it is to be found !

If you go to the end of the road to the left of the original viewpoint (i.e. following the one way road) & look back, you can see the "victim" & "perpetrator" both walking off together after the "crime"!

TBH it wasn't much of conversation - it was at the end of what appeared to be a long hard day on his part. For me it was more the sense of the "Stig"-like mystery being cracked. Really he's just a bloke with a camera stuck on the top of his car. Or maybe it's more :? .

He's still parked up just down the road so maybe I'll catch him again for a full in-depth appraisal.

He managed to take a photo of himself here, follow the path under the low bridge and you can see him looking up to check his camera.

Crossed paths with a google car yesterday. I must remember to take a look in a few months time to see if he got me.

Google Streetview car was parked outside the Co-op at Plympton (near Plymouth) a few moments ago. The camera bit was all covered up so I guess it was "resting". The way the verges are overgrown in the lanes around here at the moment I suspect this is not a good time of the year for it.

We passed a google car in Stirling a few days ago - alas in our car, not on bikes. Must remember to take a look once it gets published - I know they blur number plates but we might recognise ourselves. How long does it take to go online, anyone know?

I saw a Google car two years ago and they have just updated the streeview image, for some reason I saved the video of the encounter.
