That's him showing off again.
Pay no attention to him.

Day 252
I'm at 14.08 mainly because of an 800mile ride Up North and back in May.
I was at a paltry 11.7 this time last year ........... but finished the year at 11.51.

24 is on Target for the year.
The Tinsel and Lanes Audax on 6th December should clinch it.

Managed the 10 miles a day over the year a few weeks ago.
Set myself 5000 miles for the year (which well on track to achieve).

And, as I've started using the car less (as I now call in at supermarkets whist out riding), I'm now aiming and keeping my bike miles above my car miles ! And checked it for the 1st time today (can only go back to last March when my MOT gave me the car odometer reading), I'm currently a few hundred miles ahead on the bike.

Hi,
Currently on 12.6 but if I do nothing for rest of year then I will finish on 9.6, need 200 more miles to finish on 10 / day.
Its not always the miles you do but how you do them, keeping up with 80 % average max heart rate.

I set myself the 10mile/day target as a motivator at the beginning of the year
And some of your posted miles makes me sad :?
Currently I have just about passed 2500 miles, but it leaves me with 12.5 miles/day to go
It ain't going to happen this year....
My commute is about 7 miles each way, so it only requires a little bit of extra work
However, I lost lots of miles over Easter and Summer (can you tell I work at a College?)
I will be happy to get close to 3500 miles this year but this is still higher than last year- so happy days (& there is still next year)

Hey, don't get sad!
I've been keeping accurate records for (only) the last ten years ..... since Oct 2004.

2004 Oct/Nov/Dec - 259miles
2005 - 1,060miles
2006 - 4,506miles ........ but I did "LEJOG and Back" that year of 1,800miles.
2007 - 2,075miles
2008 - 3,680miles
2009 - 2,400miles
2010 - 2,930miles
2011 - 3,380miles
2012 - 2,440miles
2013 - 4,200miles ................... this was the year I wanted to average 10miles a day.
2014 so far - 3,880miles

That's 30,800miles in ten years (October to October) = 8.44miles per day.

The commute has reduced. New workplace.

19 miles per day from 26 miles per day.

Daily average now 23.86

Will need to put in some 100km weekends.

Do you mean 60mile? You can't use km because the numbers are bigger.

If you commute 10mile/day might be done fairly easily, but if you don't it can be harder. Nevertheless a target of whatever that might be is a good idea in my view.

I have looked at spreadsheets and not sure which one would be best for the 10 mile a day.Suggestions would be helpful..

Despite being in the IT industry and having written my first computer programmes at school in the mid 70s I don't do spreadsheets or internet mileage logging. I just record my miles in biro on a calendar on the kitchen wall and keep my yearly totals that way. No Garmin or other fancy gadgets either, just basic, late 1990s Cat Eye cycle computers on my 3 bikes.

This year I'm on 7357.48 miles, 25.28 miles per day.

I log all my trips on Endomondo and have a 250 miles a month target which I am on course for. I only cycle for the sake of it and around 70% of my trips are solo runs around the Swansea & Gower coastline on a hybrid.

You all need to get out more!

I'm currently on 5246 for the year and hoping to go over 7000. Doing a 40 miler 2-3 times a week, most weeks does it for me + plus commuting 10 miles a day.

Did 6200 last year, 6500 the year before, 5500 the year before that and 4992 the year before that (including JOGLE).

I've kept a spreadsheet since I first got a PC in 1998 and kept paper records before that. I'm approaching 170,000 miles over 41 years.

I'm doing the same as you ............... except for the commuting.

I'm on 4,026miles so far.
Day 294 today, so that's 13.7miles per day.

Shortest work commute is now 18 miles per day.
I'll have to extend my ride home by twelve miles per week, do a 50 miler every second Sunday and ride the Tinsel and Lanes 125 mile Audax in December.

That will ensure I get my 24 miles per day.
