Pointing out a rear mounted camera works well!

I'm normally quite happy to have drivers 'sat on my tail' as this normally means that they are travelling at the same speed as me, and have seen me. Also, protecting me from other traffic! not bothered about any abuse or horn use, just smile and wave :-)

Does this increase the risk of triggering/increasing road rage?

I think smiles tend to diffuse anger. Though if someone is really enraged, nothing will make any difference.

Seems to work most of the time :-) don't think I'll go as far a one poster I saw a while ago, who blew a kiss at motorists who abused him, think that might just end up in an embarrassing situation!

I am sure the majority of incidences are where the driver does not see you.

Like the impatient driver behind the one who is tailgating you, who either overtakes and discovers your presence too late or just blindly follows when your tailgater gets to squeeze through.

Can't see what else I can do to make myself more visible, 6' 4", Altura fluorescent/reflective and aggressive secondary and primary. If that isn't enough? As you say it's the blind (in every way) followers who really are the dangerous ones, lousy drivers and not looking!!!

So true - there are far too many people out there who don't seem to look for themselves, and who simply assume that if the vehicle in front can carry out it's manoeuvre then it's obviously safe for them to do it too.
