Is this repairable?

I have a hammer, vice, superglue and the bit that has broken off, can anyone see a problem?-

The lengths manufacturers go to get chains to accommodate wider blocks is getting ridiculous :D

I'd say no. But you could break off the corresponding piece on the other rivet, then cut a pair of new slots , bend it all straight and use it with a narrower chain. I'm sure that would be ok.

I am pretty sure that a power link will not last past a hundred yards.

That chain is for something a bit more powerful.

Looks like a 520 chain. On a big single perchance? How are your crankcases....

I think there's a bit missing too. The bit that fits in the groove. Maybe a bit of fusewire will do as a replacement?

Straighten it out weld the broken bit back on and get it in a lathe. Job done. Good for another million miles :lol:

I always thought 12 speed would bring problems...

Yes - you need a Birmingham screwdriver. :lol:
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840 :D

This is the CTC not the MZRC ! ( in both myself, though do more miles with 2 legs than 2 stroke!)

It took this lump out(A sprocket guard/cover retaining bolt boss ironically)I have a matching hole in the crankcase now. :roll:

I`d be interested to know what a metallurgist thinks of this.
