Croix de Fer Bar Bag?

Post by GetMeOnMyBike »

I am needing to get a bar bag for my Croix de Fer bike. I had been looking at getting an Ortlieb bar bag but they say they only go up to 31mm handlebars and the CdeF ones appear to be 40mm near the stem. Anyone any ideas/advice. Thanks.

I'd be very surprised if its not a 31.8 mm bar. I'd have another measure. If it's not, maybe try to post a photo.

Just measured my Croix de Fer (2014 factory built model) and the bar is 31'ish mm by the stem, tapering down to smaller diam. towards where the bar tape starts.

Alternately mount yours on a front rack, keeps the weight lower down and avoids any possible rotation around the bars from weight in the bag.

Smut pedaller, that is excellent ..

How does the bike handle with the bag full and no other load, out of interest?
