Hi, I have had a Mirage 9 speed group set with a 46,34 chain set, medium cage rear mech, 13-28 cassette &111mm BB. It was over geared for me so I tried a Stronglight Speed light Triple, 48,38,26. Lovely crankset. It has a lower Q factor than the Stronglight Impact & Campagnolo 'race triple' chain sets I also tried. Also, you can buy it in the (unfortunately named) ISIS flavour crank taper, & use the same 111mm campagnolo BB. (Worked fine with 28 & 31mm sized seat tubes.) I also used a 46,30 'ultra compact' double, a TA pro Vis 5 chain set. However, the big jump between chainrings can grate. I do like the low q of a Campag compact double. I quite like 8 speed shimergo with a custom 13-34 cassette & 44,34 chainset. Or similar but with shimano 9 SPD bar ends, but more cost & fettling would be required. Cheers, Luke.
