All great advice thanks. For the last 2 days I have tipped the saddle nose up and it has made a vast amount of difference. The C17 (no typo) has a slightly forward angled rear section (widest bit) that was obviously tipping me forward although the front half was level. And I didn't give much thought to the rubber "hammocking" and the rails bending so good call there. I think I have a a couple more tweaks to go and I'm away. Thank you all. What a great forum. In my opinion: The cotton covering the saddle is a perfect texture: It is slightly rough so it holds you in place but will let you slide your weight fore and aft if you need to. I haven't noticed that it is abrasive as some reviews suggest. That said most of my clothes have holes in them any way  ...hc
