SP-8 dyno hubs - anyone got experience?

I've just bought a Focus Mares fitted with the SP 8 dyno hub to use as a winter/touring bike. On paper and their website it looks very impressive, has anyone used one of these? Any issues?
Convention? what's that then?
Airnimal Chameleon touring, Orbit Pro hack, Orbit Photon audax, Focus Mares AX tour, Peugeot Carbon sportive, Owen Blower vintage race - all running Tulio's finest!

The narrow version is fitted to my Brompton. I love it.
