Spanninga solo: cheap line-tec style lamp

There is a new low cost line-style Spanninga solo dynamo rear lamp:

I emailed them and they have confirmed it exceeds the 4cd minimum of the BS6102/3 standard although they may not be claiming full BS compliance: nevertheless German approval and >4cd central brightness is the next best thing.

Highest luminous intensity in the region H=V=± 5°:
5,6 cd Muster I / sample I
6,5 cd Muster II / sample II

but it seems upside down compared to Spanningas own photos:
so unless designed to allow that (they don't mention it) presumably this nobbles the approval.

There is an AA variant, the Duxo, but it seems possibly less bright, no RKF 3 rating and 400m visibilty vs 500m

does it have a solid mode? if so the 4cd in irrelevant

I mention the 4cd because that is the central minimum in the rear BS and I have a memory of the Dft unhelpfully stating that in their opinion an EU (eg German) approved lamp was of equivalent safety to the BS only if it met are exceeded the BS intensity levels.
So I would prefer a rear lamp known to exceed 4cd....

Ah, of course the BS are not publicly available, so I have to go on the exceptions...

I mean why would want people to be able to test their own lights...

You can view the BS at a main library, at least I can.

The Duxo now has an RKF3 rating, i.e. was/is >= 4cd for those wishing that reassurance.
