Tyre size for Mavic Open Pro rims

My lightweight touring bike has good Mavic Open Pro rims and 700C x 28 tyres . I was thinking of putting 32s on instead of the 28s . Would these rims be O.K.with this size ?

Yes rims would take these tyres, check mudguard/brake/frame clearance.

Open Pro's are 15mm wide internally, so according to Sheldon you should be okay

I've been running a 32mm Spesh pro folder on the rear of my open pro ceramic for almost 2 years now. Absolutely fine and the ride is excellent, no problems with high speed cornering with loaded bags either (certainly no squirming) & I'm no lightweight myself

I purchased some schwalbe marathon 308's for a tour (28mm) and they didnt fit my rear wheel (Open Pro rim).Too big for the rim, despite added rim tape and resulted in several dramatic blow outs on tour fully loaded and in the mountains. Look carefully as the tyre you choose, make sure its a tighter fit.

I've run Mavic Open Pro 15mm rims with 35mm RIBMOs which was fine but probably pushing it. They seemed a little better at 32mm but more because the 35mm looked too bulbous rather than any performance issues.

Sheldon Brown says 15mm is best from 23mm to 32mm.

38mm Cx tyres work fine. Ditto slick 28mm Contis at 80psi.
