Nokia phone charger
Re: Nokia phone charger
Here's one i put together. Would only cost less than a squid. 4 diodes and a capacitor wired in a bridge.
Charges my Nokia phone when i am on the turbo.
There's lot's more for the technically minded here. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17084

Re: Nokia phone charger
I was thinking of something similar (but more techy). The voltage drop across the regulator bothered me so I was considering a precision rectifier (FET's instead of diodes, using an op-amp to detect the incoming polarity). A single diode and smoothing cap would provide the initial 'kick' to get the op-amp up and running.
Not as cheap as yours and if yours works well enough then probably not a lot of point. But I figured the voltage may be only around 3.5v or so after the bridge which wouldn't be enough for some of the stuff I wanted to run. I guess you didn't have this problem?
