I am not that experienced when it comes to wheels ...
I want to re-build a (radially laced/20 spokes/50mm deep rims) front wheel. I have the luxury of measuring the existing spokes. L 256mm gets me to the bottom of the screwdriver slot in the nipple, but I will accept 1mm shorter, me thinks. Then me realizes that I won't be using the exact same nipples in the re-build - original nipples alloy, new nipples brass. So, I ask myself ... How much does the design of spoke heads actually differ and how much does that impact upon spoke length? In answer to these two things I think to myself ... not much and not much again.
Agree?
Spoke Length Part 48
