Final nail for Armstrong?
Review of Tyler Hamilton's sensational book about his doping career with LA.
Will LA sue? He has sued for libel before over a book. "LA Confidential".

It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

They both work for me when I click on my posting. I don't have anything like enough knowledge of these things to know why they don't work for you.

Two interesting articles, does not make great reading for fans of LA.
So the secrets of LA doping revealed by a convicted doper..................Guess they will have quite a job finding people who have not been implicated to give the TDF titles to.

Yes exactly. I can remember so much not wanting to believe TH was not a doper at the time because I really regarded him as a good rider and probably a little more ironically he had only just lost his dog but unfortunately what I had feared was proven to have been true.
I don't doubt that TH's book will be a good read and given a few months when its price is reduced I will be buying it but really when it comes to cycling and doping I read about it in P.Kimmages book Rough Ride years ago and sadly for me I am still not convinced its a totally clean sport even now.
Re: Final nail for Armstrong?
Well, the thing with doping is: in order to achieve the sensations it seems necessary - at a certain point, simple physical potential doesn't work anymore. I think the Armstrong case finally shows that physical capability has its limits. It's a shame that doping affects the sport so negatively. I think sports should work without drugs, I mean, even horses are tested in horse races and if a certain antibody is tested positively, the rider cannot participate. I am glad they have these tests, I have read much about the business of molecular biology here on antibodies and it is really interesting to see what scientists can do already. So hopefully, in the future, doping will be impossible somehow.

Re: Final nail for Armstrong?
Just listening to TH being interviewed on `Hardtalk`-BBC World Service.
Re: Final nail for Armstrong?
breakwellmz thanks for letting us know as I have just watched it and found it compelling viewing.I loved TH as a rider and was saddened to learn like so many others was a doper.I wonder how many more did but have never had the guts to admit it.
As for my view its one of how many of us just like these riders have made totally the wrong decisions and had to live with the consequences of those decisions long after they were made.

Hi.
I only came across it by chance when i was looking for Radio4 Extra!
Yes,i found it very interesting,i assume it can be listened to again easily enough.
Did you notice how many times TH mentioned his book?
I feel there are facts that we don`t know about, and perhaps never will.
For me,the verdict is still out on this one.
Cheers

breakwellmz ( is that as in MZ motorcycle because if it is where have they all gone. You do not see them these days ) I do think LA, given all those that have said he was ie Floyd Landis, TH et al was on drugs but at the same time there must have been so many more as well so in a sense it was a level playing field.
Given cycling consists of riders from many countries I would love to know who the others were and whether us British were not amongst the guilty as well.
Its all academic now really but the issue does intrique me.

Hi.
It leaves a rather sour taste doesn`t it?
The phrase "Opening a can of worms" springs to mind.
I have an MZ Mastiff in the garage.
Cheers

"Lancing a boil." seems more accurate.

Just finished reading TH book and it makes for compelling reading. If it is correct what he has written then LA certainly has a case to answer for.
Has TH suggests it would be beneficial for everyone and LA if he was to just admit his guilt then everyone could move on.After all David Millar did and although its taken a few years he has regained at least some of the respect he had before he doped.

BBC Radio 5 live Sport will have a special programme, "Peddlers: Cycling's Dirty Truth", at 19:00 BST on Monday looking at the whole Lance Armstrong saga, including a full interview with former team-mate Tyler Hamilton.
