I'm loath to comment without any confirmation of this news.

Again I suppose the question would be why.

Appart form being a loss to the CTC (raising questions as to why the CTC didn't keep him), people do retire, have personal situations arise meaning a move, etc. Things like pay/responsibility/promotion/etc. can be addressed by a company who wants to keep somebody (provided the employee handles the "asking" correctly).

Roger Geffen will be working for Cycling UK.

Perhaps an edit to your thread title would be in order.

Oh Philip, you teaser.

Actually, I have been awaiting news of the court case relating to the environmental protest at the open-cast coalmine.

Has anyone heard anything ?

How can he be working for WACU. It is (so we were told) only a trading name.

TBH I wondered if Mr Geffen would resign in protest at Head Office behaviour:

surely a campaigning organisation needs to be respected as having integrity---

summarily removing the Technical and Touring Officer without prior discussion with the membership
and similarly the rename with similar lack of involvement....., and the go ahead of rebrand even though a poll has been called* seem at odds with integrity.

*I presume they intend to ignore the results of any poll because "they know what is best for the charity aims" and charity aims trump members views etc etc.

It'd be best if continuing to discuss people personally and by name, that posters ask them first. This isn't helping.
