When I used to take D of E kids out camping I'd ask them to bring back the tents ready for use by the next users...

One very well meaning child put the tent through the washing machine - it was every so nice looking and smelt fine but the groundsheet leaked like a sieve when next used.
She also washed the tent pegs in the dishwasher :lol:

I don't wash my tent(s) but make sure they are bone dry before storage. I also really like that fausty, manky smell they develop over time, it brings back oh so many memories.
