Thanks I should have done that.
Re: Camping
Thanks for the link.
Looks good but I notice many don't have the Shower/Bath symbol.
Although there is one in Zambia, where there are no Warm Showers hosts.

If I'm paying I'd like to be able to wash properly, these campinmygarden ones are charging!
I can wild camp completely free, use a coke bottle with three holes drilled in the cap to shower which is what I've been doing for the last ten months! If I want a luxury shower I use two bottles and warm some water up on the stove and have a hot shower.
For me the lack of proper wash facilities would rule the place out. Wet wipes don't clean off salt and road grime particularly well... Personally I'd still feel grungy.

Hello,
Wash? Comb your hair?
Camping is all about the outdoors. If you pay, so what, still camping in the outdoors.
Baby wet wipes etc will do the job.
If you want showers and shops a Travelodge will work?
Regards,
John
Camping
Exactly John so I'd wild camp....
After spending 10 months on this trip and cycling 18,500 km camping in deserts, forests, mountains and savannah cycling from the UK, through 13 African countries, the Sahara, around Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro, West Africa, East Africa to Cape Town I'm not inclined to pay for anything that I can get for free wild camping!!
Why pay when you get nothing worth paying for.. I'd rather use the money for food and extend my trip by another day or two. But that's just my opinion. I'm happy to listen to the pros that outweigh no washing facilities. I simply can't see any?
There's millions of spots to put a tent for free...
Out of interest have you used the site in question?
Have you wild camped much (beyond say a week or the odd night)?
If yes to both, can you confirm what in your opinion the site offers in value for money when on tour for someone who wild camps 95% of the time?
I get the fact that if your time is limited and your not fortunate enough to be able to do an extended tour that semi roughing it but staying within a 'safe environment' and paying for poor facilities is likely to be more acceptable, as your more likely to be going back to a reasonable or well paid job therefore value for money isn't likely to be such a large factor when considering your expenditure.
P.S. The cost of one night in a Travelodge even on an early booking promo rock bottom discount equates to 4-5 days touring costs minimum, but you do get a shower which after two weeks wild camping is rather nice both for yourself and your clothes!! (I've never stayed in one touring, there's always cheaper alternatives)
P.P.S. I don't have any hair to comb and I don't recall mentioning shops

Re: Camping
Hello
I have and I will. I just thought it odd that someone would want facilities because they had paid. Someone 'owns' every bit of land. Surely a small payment for 'peace of mind'?

Re: Camping
I suspect if you camp in someone's garden, albeit having to pay a small fee, you might actually meet the owner and have the opportunity for a chat. A bit of socialising does no harm at all. Spend too long on your own and things might start to fall apart psychologically.
