Cycles of Yesteryear

Postby MikewsMITH2 » Fri Jan 29, 2010 12:57 pm

I have recommended Cycles of Yesteryear several times for those looking for parts to fit their Nottingham Raleighs. The products are imported from India and are cheap. The finish/quality isn't up to Nottingham Raleigh standards (but what is nowadays?), but they are OK and certainly better than the 40 year old worn and rusty parts you take off the bike!

However I now have to report that the standard of service has declined. I ordered some bits by email as I couldn't get their website to work properly and asked for the P&P so I could send the money (via PayPal). It was about 2 weeks before they got back to me with the P&P and to say that the items were in now stock (although thier website said they were all along). When the items didn't arrive, I contacted them and after a couple of days, they emailed me to explain that one of the items had been out of stock, but they would ship via 1st Class mail immeidately. About a week later the parts arrived with one item missing. I now can't get a response regarding this.

No doubt this will get resolved in their own time, but dealing with them is now slow and frustrating.

Sorry to hear that, I had great hopes for them when I found them via google the other day. To be fair, I've read similar reviews elsewhere, the main crux being "The stuff's ok, but takes an age to arrive." Shame, they'd be sitting on a little gold mine if they got their act together :(
