Haven't you read the blurb?
The 17mm adjustment on the alternator dropouts is to "tune the wheelbase and ride characteristics".
....I wonder where the 50mm or so difference in wheelbase between the flat bar and drop bar versions fits into that?

I set mine at full whack back and left'em there. No plan to ever make my wheelbase any shorter than max available.

As for hub gears and other options... I am pretty sure the DT, Straggler, Troll, Soma Saga Disc, etc. have no issues fitting those options without the added complexity, fragility and maintenance. Straggler lets you adjust the wheelbase also, if it matters.

My bike with the alternators is still fab though, otherwise... :D Now if could've just not got the couplings too, hmmm.
