Ah thanks andrew, i wasn't expecting the germans to go all poetic.

Sorry, another question for folks.

I see that they have QL2.1 fixing.

What's the difference between this and QL2?

All the "plus" panniers are QL2.
Rather than being screw fastening for the upper and lower hook adjustment, they are tool free. The lower hook also has an oval slot to give more adjustment, and there's an optional cable lock thingy to stop your panniers being pinched.

Yes, i have QL2 on my rear backpackers.

But I thought the specs of the sportpackers referred to something called QL2.1.

What's the .1 refer to?

I think that 2.1 is the more recent version of QL2. All of the current "plus" panniers seem to use it.

It would seem that you get a curved lower rail rather than the elliptical rail they used to have, and that the hooks have changed. The inserts for the upper hooks seem to use a different method of clipping into place, looking at the Ortlieb spares section. I can't see any visible difference in the lower hook, but there are QL2 and QL2.1 versions available.
