I think several of the above let you download maps in advance, can keep the screen on (although that's relatively expensive on battery) and give directions with the screen off. I know osmand~ can. What else was hoped for? It might help if that was clearer.

I really don't know why I bothered writing a response outlining two apps that do what you were asking for !!|There are loads of options, but I'll be spending my time answering people who read what people spend their time writing for them.
