Romania
Romania
Can anyone advise on cycling in Romania? Specifically, I intend approaching from the Danube Cycleway south of Budapest, heading east to along the Mures river to a village south of Sibiu. This is part of a sponsored ride next spring (2015) from Dieppe to raise money for a children's home. Anyone interested in joining me?
Re: Romania
I rode the EV6 through Romania. Loved my time there, I ran along the south following the Danube. Not much traffic, lots of friendly faces and cheers through the villages. Very cheap. Horse drawn carriages everywhere, Beware of; Dogs in the villages, certain types asking for money, mostly young children. Bless em!

Re: Romania
I cycled in Romania this summer.
First along the Danube, then due north to the Ukrainian border.
I liked it.
Main roads are busy but back roads are empty.
The tarmac was mostly good but there was the odd stretch that was bad.
All villages have wells/springs/taps so water isn't a problem.
Wild camping was dead easy when I didn't use a hotel, which were just under ~£20 per night if I remember correctly.
The language is a latin based so if you know some french/spanish/italian you can probably read a bit and get by.
