I will have in 3 months time. I am off there at end of Sept for 6 weeks.

There is a bit of info on the web, but not nearly as much as for other destinations. I think there are quite a few Japanese tourers, but very few blogging foreigners. Most people seem to be put off by the cost(s).

There have been a couple of posts here in the last year. Seek and ye shall find.

Look forward to hearing about your journey and by the way, whereabouts will you be going?

Josie Dew, one of our CTC vice presidents has written two excellent books on touring in Japan,

My route will start in Osaka then either a circular (or zigzag down and ferry back) in Western Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku. I reckon on cycling about 2000 kms in 6 weeks.

I am going to this area as the weather will be better - winter draws on.

I've got one of Josie's books out of the library, The Neon Sun one, but it is quite old (1999) and therefore very out of date for touring info.
