Good B and B for cycling Norfolk Broads?

Post by markc5050 »

Have searched forum for B and B accommodation in Norfolk Broads. Am planning 4 day Summer Hols. and taking wife (she requires comfort!!) and only way to get her on bike is with good accommodation. Any recommendations? Whilst on the subject: looking for good circular route guide/maps?

cant help you with B&B, but if you look on a detailed map aim to visit all or many of the broads and a route suggests it self. Cant avoid some main road sections.

You may like to buy this ancient book to put you into a mood --

Ghosts of the Broads - Charles Sampson

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ghosts-Broads-Charles-Sampson/dp/0711702381

Google it and you can get it real cheap.

A really fun read and leaves you not sure how to take it, as I think it dates back to when people took ghosts and spritualism seriously.

A book from another time. Easy to read chapter by chapter. Many places spiced up by the the tale connected with them.

The GoldenEye cycling map of Norfolk is worth buying. It highlights all the quiet lanes and circular routes in the area. Although we've not toured the Broads, we've used it extensively in North and West Norfolk and done many day rides from Hunstanton using the map.

The closest I've stayed is Burnham Deepdale, and that was camping (there's a nice cafe, though, if you get up that way), but maybe you want to try http://www.norfolkbroads.com/accommodat ... -breakfast
or http://www.enjoythebroads.com/where-to- ... -breakfast
I seem to recall that you can stay in one of the windmills, but not where it was. I'll have a little hunt for it if I get a chance.
