Turin to Bratislava

Post by albal1 »

Anyone done this route? Thinking of doing it mid May, is there camping en route? And good roads to use? I'm clueless. All info appreciated. Thanks

It depends... Do you like mountains? If you want to go over lots of passes in the Alps I can't help. If you want to avoid the worst of the Alps, then I'd recommend heading across northern Italy (via Bergamo, Brescia, Verona & Vicenza for example), almost to Trieste. Then across Slovenia, where there are some decent climbs, and up the Austria/Hungary border to Bratislava.

There are campsites, but maybe not as many as you might expect.

Thanks for the info. It seems, I could run part of Eurovelo6, get dropped at Chalon, and head for Bratislava, this way. I've a chance of a free lift to Turin , so no need to get out in Italy. :) well pleased.

Ok, so you don't actually want to go from Turin to Bratislava then.... Anyway, there's lots of information on here about the EV6, enjoy.
