hi there
this summer i am planning on following the eurovelo 7 'sun route' from norway to sicily. i have downloaded the route report from the ecf website, but the level of detail included is very variable from country to country, i am having trouble finding actual details in the form of road names and maps! the report tells us which roads to take through scandinavia, but the german section onwards does not specify.....
does anybody know of any good resources which give greater detail of this route?
thanks

For Italy, a large part of the Ciclopista del Sole also forms part of EuroVelo Route 7, which enters Italy across the Brenner Pass and ends in Syracuse, the port connecting Italy to Malta by sea.

Hi Alice
I too am interested in doing the Euro velo 7 route and wondered if you might share any information you have managed to glean...... I am still wondering if it is too late in September to at least start the route?
I would be very interested to hear of your experiences if you have started it this year, if so have you a blog or such like?
Kind regards Chris
ps I would be pleased to hear from any others who see this posting any have information relevant to the Sun route....thanks.

For the Copenhagen -- Berlin section, there's some info in this thread: http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30684&start=0.

Found this on Google Maps:

Marks the nightly stopping points of a guy who completed the route last year. Hope it helps.

Hi, Anyone interested in the Eurovelo 7 may be interested in our blog here:
http://neilandko.wordpress.com/
Also, I've written a sparkling account of the Scandinavian leg of the trip which you can download from the Amazon Kindle store for eReaders for a small sum (smallest they'd let me make it!)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%B6k-Tv%C3%A4tt-Through-Scandinavia-Tandem/dp/B0046H9ZA4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3TVV12T0I6NSM&qid=1289844946&sr=1-1
I would say September is definitely too late to be starting this trip - from the Norwegian end anyway. We set off on 1st August and were riding in perpetual autumn (not as nice as it sounds!). Early June would be better, but of course you run the risk of riding through a central European hot summer. You can't win, really.
