EuroVelo 6 Maps

Hello,

I am in the very early phases of planning a trip to complete the EuroVelo 6 route, adding on to the end. I would like to start in Bucharest, cycle to Saint Nazaire, then continue on down the Atlantic Coast through France and Spain and eventually wind up in Lisbon. Im curious if there are any cheaper sources for maps, as the sets I seem to need would cost me over 50 pounds, plus international shipping to the United States. As a recent university graduate with an insane amount of student loan debt, money is somewhat tight for me right now.

Is this the best source? Is the "official map set" worthwhile? Any other ideas for planning an exact route for my journey?

Ideally I would like to plot my route in google maps or google earth to get some good statistics and an overall idea of my plan.
