Megabus to France

Post by chalky »

Has anyone tried taking a complete bike to France on Megabus. Any problems etc? We normally use the Bike bus but from Shropshire it is quite a way to pick up the coach in the first place. We've had problems with the bikes when flying and don't wish to drive to the south of France.

Thank you for that link. Very interesting. I hadn't taken notice of that before, didn't hear about Megabus until earlier this week.
Bit concerned about two of us travelling. Would be a disaster if they only had room for one bike!!!

I was the original poster on the thread that has been linked to. When I used Megabus there was lots of spare space in the hold and the bus was fully booked. I came back from Barcelona by Megabus as well. However, to avoid any anxieties, it might be worth emailing them to clarify any concerns.

I like this option a lot. The price is good, the drivers were really helpful and travelling by bus reduces the hassles and carbon debt of flying. Do bear in mind the weight limits though and the need to bag your bike.
