Recommend a campsite to me
Recommend a campsite to me
Looking for a smaller, non holiday Park, campsite.
The plan is to tow my caravan then only use our bikes or feet to get about.
If you know them Little Winwick campsite with the cycle trail to the beach or the Camping and Caravan Club site in Keswick are the type of site I'm looking for.
Just about anywhere on the coast will do.

A little more information may be useful to save people wasting their time posting inappropriate replies.
Any geographical limits - Scotland, Cornwall, France?
When? Even the busy sites can be quiet and pleasant out of season.
What facilities do you want. Hook up, toilet, shower, etc?
Is this a long term pitching or a weeks holiday?

Take the road to the old car ferry to isle of Skye and camp for free on the front grassy bit along that road. Nice views to Skye. Then there's the village hall about 15 minute walk away that allows you to use their facilities including showers.
IIRC there's a place in nw Scotland, up the coast from road to Skye but kinda opposite the northern end of Skye. Applewick I think it's called, a small village with a free campsite. Right on the coast I heard and one of the best places to spend a night.
Llynn peninsula right at the end is a small campsite with a cafe at the entrance. It's two fields with a large third one at busy times. Nothing much after it just the end of the peninsula. Can't remember the name but it's a great place, very simple but nice. Toilet block is basic but not too basic.

If you're in the C&CC Eskdale site is nice but not near the coast. I just like it so recommended it anyway.

Trellyn Woodland Camping, near Fishguard (north Pemboke coast), where pitches are individual clearings among trees and scrubland. My kids went there and liked it. I cannot remember how close to the beach it is, but it might be worth a look. I believe they allow camp fires.

Gibraltar Farm at Silverdale overlooking Morecambe Bay. I've stayed there several times, varying from family for weekend/longer stay in our trailer tent (dubbed the "portachateau") to a single night with just me & & the stuff carried on my bike.

High Sand Creek at Stiffkey, Norfolk. Small, good facilities, on the margin of the saltmarsh, good beaches nearby, good pub in the village.

I'm loathe to tell you my favourite bolt hole in case you all turn up. Just keep this amongst yourselves
