Silicon for my Tent

Post by jqdsffjdsoge »

Hi,
As subject, really. My tent is about four years old now and although in tip-top shape as I'm careful, I reckon a coating of silicon wouldn't go astray. Thing is, I've no idea where to get this in the UK. Can anyone help ?

Thanks.

The only Silicone I have come across is either a grease, lubricant or bathroom sealant.
If you Google silicone spray, it is available at various outlets but I don't know that it would be suitable for tent fabric re-coating.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

I think you mean this stuff, a shop that sells hill walking gear should stock it.

Fabsil.

You can buy as a spray or a liquid in a screwtop can. I then spray it on with a garden plant sprayer.

Or you can just slap it on with a brush.
