bike hire Charleroi Belgium?

Post by andy_scot_uk »

Hi

Does anyone know of bike hire in or near Charleroi Belgium. Got a cheap Ryanair flight for a weekend and want to spend a day cycling around this industrial town. Not a "sexy" or long tour but every little counts :-)

Here's a few -
They are not being recommended by me, just a nod to their existence!

Google brings up the train station ("gare" in French) all the time.

If none of these take your fancy, try a bike shop. The word for rent is "louer" and bike is "velo". There are many in Belgium!! :D

...err...good luck. It's really not a very nice city. Why don't you jump on the train to Bruxelles or Namur (lovely) or anywhere else?

You could take a ride on the RaVEL bike path (following the old Canal du Centre). It's a bit boring though, rather industrial and the scenery doesn't vary very much.... IMO head towards Tournai rather than Namur.

thanks

just back. Only bike hire is the brillo point in the station, Charleroi du Sud, that's Monday to Friday and limited availability. Quite a few cycleways but the area is very industrial. If I was going again would probably go to Namur where bike hire can be had.
