Well, if it's just on the television, it isn't a minomer for a rally.

Now that Bradley has raised cyclings profile a bit further it would be great if we got a cycling show on BBC tv . After all, motorists and morons have Top Gear, gardeners have Gardeners World and cycling is definately trending, so now is the time to strike while the iron is hot. A quick email to BBC Points of View is a good way to lobby for more coverage at pov@bbc.co.UK . The Times campaign, the TDF, and no doubt Olympic successes are all positive factors that can help get more public and government resources for cycle commuters and pleasure seekers.

In the promotional blurb it said it'll have "Top Gear style challenges and features", no doubt Nigel Mansell being the first guest is an attempt to get Top Gear fans to tune in.

Only thing is that with all magazine shows of this sort it's going to be terrible, the presenters will be wooden, there will be no rapour and the features won't exactly gel. But that's just the way these things go, it takes some time to get it right.

What a boo boy you are! It's a cycling prog, the 'top gear' style challenges are going to be based around bikes, have you never ever tested yourself on a bike, isn't an audax event a challenge? Don't many cyclists who buy a bike test themselves in one way or another, it'll road riding, MTB, racing, urban riding etc so plenty for everyone.
so what if car drivers tune into it, surely that's a good thing no? As for Mansell, he did actually back a youth cycling team last year and does a lot for UK youth (presenting cycling awards and fundraising via his cycle challange) so his link to cycling isn't all that tenuous to be fair.

So they'll be dropping the latest CF road bikes from cranes to see if they break?
Or trying to turn a fully loaded touring tandem into a space shuttle? lol

Well they couldn't have timed it better interest-wise with Brad's TdF win. I recon it'd be awesome if they had a Top Gear style test track and a special guest doing a flying lap each week to see who's the fastest!

Fastest celeb up Box Hill anyone? :D

A complete joke - what did Mansell add other than over-use of the Cav word "incredible" ... and Fisher - what was he on ?? ... Obree was unintelligible ... Wayne Hemingway was of marginal value (or the content bit he did was) ... Rob Hayles was wooden - and the front-man - beyond description for awfulness.

I didn't like it !

The Cycle Show on ITV 4

Post by Elizabethsdad »

Was it any good? I set our digibox up to record it but it failed to do so, as it randomly seems to do on occasion. :(
Is it going to be shown again this week at all?
