I bought this bike for €20 in a car boot sale in France last year. I bought it thinking it would be exactly right for my partner, but she doesn't like the idea of drop handlebars and down tube shifters. It's quite small - 18" frame with 650B wheels. TA cranks and Shimano 105 brakes and transmission. The chain rings are 46 and 38 and the sprockets run from 17 to 23, it's five speed, 41" - 75". It was being sold by a father and his son. The dad told me it had won races, and the boy beamed, it had the ring of truth to it.
I took it for a spin this morning, and I was surprised at how nicely it rode. Funnily enough, I wasn't acknowledged by a single cyclist I said good morning to, and I greeted everyone I met, from clueless looking families, mountain bikers and hard men on exotic road machines. Was I riding the wrong bike, or was it my garb? I had on a pair of 3/4 length trousers that and a plain Tshirt. BTW, usually when I'm riding either the tandem (Dawes Discovery Twin), my Airninmal or my Galaxy, I'm almost always wearing lycra and am acknowledged by most.
