Not exactly my bike, but I remember that Mick F had both a lot of grass and a sloping lawn, so I hope that a pic of this bicycle powered lawnmower might be useful.

regards to all, Braz.

Might need a lower gear for the uphill stripe. Downhill stripe would be an interesting ride.

I bought this bike for €20 in a car boot sale in France last year. I bought it thinking it would be exactly right for my partner, but she doesn't like the idea of drop handlebars and down tube shifters. It's quite small - 18" frame with 650B wheels. TA cranks and Shimano 105 brakes and transmission. The chain rings are 46 and 38 and the sprockets run from 17 to 23, it's five speed, 41" - 75". It was being sold by a father and his son. The dad told me it had won races, and the boy beamed, it had the ring of truth to it.

I took it for a spin this morning, and I was surprised at how nicely it rode. Funnily enough, I wasn't acknowledged by a single cyclist I said good morning to, and I greeted everyone I met, from clueless looking families, mountain bikers and hard men on exotic road machines. Was I riding the wrong bike, or was it my garb? I had on a pair of 3/4 length trousers that and a plain Tshirt. BTW, usually when I'm riding either the tandem (Dawes Discovery Twin), my Airninmal or my Galaxy, I'm almost always wearing lycra and am acknowledged by most.

That's very unusual, it's usually the "lycra lads" that rarely seem to acknowledge anyone!

Taken mid morning Sunday 16 August just after I'd climbed Gospel Pass whilst cycling Llanidloes to Severn Bridge using the southern half of the Lon Las Cymru.

I thought I might treat this like the BCQ, and see how long it takes me to build an entyre bike out of pixels. If anyone wants to chip in with a few parts, be my guest.
My name is Richard, and I live in Herefordshire, [rich.hr6]. My bike is a steel Sardar with an extended steerer tube.
I spend most of my cycling time dawdling round the Marches, mostly solo, 20 to 50 miles at a time. The rest of this year seems to have been spent trying to load a picture onto this page. Hope it's worked at last.

Richard

Brilliant idea - just the thing for the tea shop. We've had some interesting threads based on pictures that fit in lists. I'm not sure if there's anywhere with derailleur in the name but it's amazing what people come up with so you never know. There is a place called Triangle near Halifax.....
