Big Cycling Jerseys
Big Cycling Jerseys
I have a friend (ahem!) who wants to know if anyone knows where i, er i mean he can get a loose fitting cycling jersey to fit 48" chest? most of the cycling jerseys that size have the elasticated hem, which does his beer belly no favours and it tends to be figure hugging! It must have the three rear pockets though. Berghaus used to do them but they have stopped making that size (XXL) now and the Altura ones have only one rear zipped pocket which is a nightmare to access.
May the wind always be at your rear!
It may be a bit tight but Foska Freeride jerseys are pretty good. They officially go to 44" but that is a pretty baggy fit.
Anyway, details at http://www.foska.com/acatalog/Freeride.html and you could always contact them to ask if you would fit into an XXL.

I know someone who has similar problems and I have been unable to find FB (fat B******) sized cycling clothes that are loose fit for him too
I do have one loose fitting top that was given to me and it apparently came from America. I brief searched failed to unearth any dedicated cycling tops but there's some great cycling images than can be put onto humungous t-shirts at: http://www.retroimageapparel.com/apparel/men.html
There's some short sleeve tops available at: http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci ... amclothing though you'll have to dig about as not all teams have a full range of sizes.
I make do with Aldi's offerings with their form hugging fit and redicule inducing appearnce but being pachydermic, I'm not too bothered

Some of the Altura models are T shirt design so more baggy than many cycling jerseys
As such they are very popular with larger riders who not only like the size but prefer something tailored to the extent that is doesn't display the 'relaxed muscle' that some of us have for all to see. Agree with you about the pocket though, I wear these jerseys all the time, even as a normal T Shirt, but I never use the pocket, mind you I seldom do even when I wear the tigther more common style of cycling jerseys with three rear pockets like below, in part as again it pulls the front tighter which highlights that I am not the slim racing snake that I was once, plus I seldom ride without a rack bag to carry all the required essentials these days

I'm a 48" chest and I too don't like the figure hugging tops that most shops have in stock. I have a good selection of tops by: Helly Hansen, Altura and Endura all of them are marked XXL and I find them a loose and comfortable fit. Some of them have rear pockets and some don't, I get around the problem by using a seat pack, bar bag or rack pack and very occasionally a bumbag.
Try America!
Seriously some american cyclists are "big"
