Who stocks touring shorts in London?

Post by Gordon Casely »

Where in London can I buy padded touring shorts with plenty of pockets? I have two pairs of Altura shorts, padded (not liners), and they're wearing out. No one seems to make or stock them now, not even Altura according to their website.

Getting desperate for replacements! Due in London Tuesday 21 July.

Can you help please?

Thanks
Gordon

Rapha?

But they are unpadded, I think.

I trust the Rapha shorts are available in colourways to sympathetically co-ordinate with their bivvy bags.

I can recommend these:

There's a branch in covent garden.

I have a pair of Endura shorts but they have now been retired to general walking around town duties.

The Mountain Warehouse shorts are lighter, easier to wash and dry. Pack smaller.

Tough.

Lots of pockets.

Unpadded but it's healthier to use a separate pad/inner anyway I think.

And lately I've forsaken padding anyway - use synthetic underpants from Aldi and the like - share advantages of the shorts - cheap, pack very small, easy to wash and dry.

I really like my Specialized mountain biking baggies. They are liner + shorts rather than all in one piece, but they look like normal cargo shorts and are really comfy. They have little attachment loops, so the shorts and liner can be taken up and down as one. But they can also be worn with other cycling shorts or liners, if I wish. They are made form fast drying material & have loads of pockets, including two that velcro shut and one that zips shut.

A cheap and versatile option is normal modern cycling shorts with a pair of say tennis shorts over the top .
